The SoundField Surround Zone plug-in brings all the benefits of SoundField Technology to TDM, RTAS, VST and AU platforms. The plug-in is designed to accept the B-Format information generated by all SoundField microphones and represents the most powerful surround recording and post-production package available. The unique four capsule array in every SoundField microphone captures three dimensional sound at the same ‘central point’ thereby eliminating all time and phase related anomalies created by multiple spaced microphones. Once in the SoundField B-Format domain, the point of acoustic origin is defined and all output variations (i.e. mono, stereo, M/S, 5.1, 6.1 etc.) are derived from this same ‘central point’. This provides the user with completely phase accurate surround sound recordings which are backward/forward compatible. All plug-in features can be utilized either at the live recording stage or retrospectively in the post-production environment.

  • Rotate control allowing full 360° horizontal rotation to bring “off-axis" sounds “on-axis" or for “carousel" effect
  • Tilt to adjust the microphone pick-up angle up or down by 45°
  • Zoom in on sound sources; can be used to “seek and highlight" when used in conjunction with Rotate
  • Invert flips Left/Right information to keep an accurate perspective when the mic is suspended above sound source
